Modular symmetry in the SMEFT

چکیده
We study the modular symmetric standard-model effective field theory. employ stringy Ansatz on coupling structure that 4-point couplings $y^{(4)}$ of matter fields are written by a product 3-point $y^{(3)}$ fields, i.e., $y^{(4)} = y^{(3)}y^{(3)}$. In this framework, we discuss flavor bilinear fermion operators and 4-fermion operators, where holomorphic anti-holomorphic forms appear. From Ansatz, $A_4$ modular-invariant semileptonic four-fermion operator $[\,\bar E_R \Gamma E_R][\,\bar D_R D_R\,]$ does not lead to changing (FC) processes since would be constructed in terms gauge $g$ as $y^{(3)} \sim g$. The chirality flipped D_L\,]$ also FC if mediated mode corresponds Higgs boson $H_d$. case, is exactly same mass matrix. On other hand, matrix, situation change drastically. Scheming in the SMEFT . . . and a reparameterization invariance
We explain a reparameterization invariance in the Standard Model Effective Field Theory present when considering ψ̄ψ → ψ̄ψ scatterings (with ψ a fermion) and how this leads to unconstrained combinations of Wilson coefficients in global data analyses restricted to these measurements. We develop a {m̂W , m̂Z , ĜF } input parameter scheme and compare results to the case when an input parameter set {α̂,...
متن کاملTowards consistent Electroweak Precision Data constraints in the SMEFT
We discuss the impact of many previously neglected effects of higher dimensional operators when fitting to Electroweak Precision data (EWPD) in the Standard Model Effective Field Theory (SMEFT). We calculate the general case of 2 → 2 fermion scattering in the SMEFT to order O(v̄2 T /Λ2) valid on and off the Z pole, in the massless fermion limit. We demonstrate that previously neglected correctio...
متن کاملGeometric Modular Action and Spontaneous Symmetry Breaking
We study spontaneous symmetry breaking for field algebras on Minkowski space in the presence of a condition of geometric modular action (CGMA) proposed earlier as a selection criterion for vacuum states on general space–times. We show that any internal symmetry group must commute with the representation of the Poincaré group (whose existence is assured by the CGMA) and each translation-invarian...
متن کاملModular Symmetry, Twisted Sectors and Flavour
Twisted sectors of heterotic orbifolds have long been of phenomenological interest, since their massless states are automatically localized at the fixed points, resulting in effective couplings exponentially suppressed by the distance between different points. In the field theory limit of large compactification radii, such nonlocal couplings vanish, but they acquire nonzero values through nonpe...
متن کاملTri-Bimaximal Neutrino Mixing, A4 and the Modular Symmetry
We formulate and discuss a 4-dimensional SUSY version of an A4 model for tribimaximal neutrino mixing which is completely natural. We also study the next-tothe-leading corrections and show that they are small, once the ratios of A4 breaking VEVs to the cutoff are fixed in a specified interval. We also point out an interesting way of presenting the A4 group starting from the modular group. In th...
